Ka ka ka

Jizo is the Japanese name for a Bodhisattva, a compassionate being who guides others on the path to enlightenment - each Bodhisattva is charged with a method of doing so.

Jizo’s method is to travel through the areas of human suffering, all the time laughing gently ‘ka ka ka’, as if to lighten the conviction we have for our attachment to such sufferings.
