Kokūzō

by Adrian Freedman

Boundless space is the ground of being
In which all phenomena rise and fall

Form is emptiness
Emptiness is form

Universal mantra, universal sound
Universal mandala of sacred space unbound

Kokūzō is the Japanese name for the Boddhisattva who’s function is to hold the records of the everything that has happened across the whole of time and space.

The mantra associated with this aspect of Buddhahood uses the word Akyasha - where the word Akashic comes from - as in the ‘Akashic Records’.
