Bodies made of Earth
22-1-2011
I am in a body formed of Earth
Living on a rock made in the sun
Floating through the universe of pure light
So what on Earth could possibly be wrong?
I am full of joy, I’m full of song
When basking in the glory of the One
I am full of light, I’m full of love
Home here in my heart where I belong
But when I forget, its not so easy to connect
And I am cast out of the garden, all alone
I’m cursed with the idea that there is something to be feared
Despite the living miracle that I am
I’m so grateful for chance to recognise you
So empty was my life before you came
Lost in the endless games of chasing shadows
Mistaking meaning for your warm embrace
I long to be free of all my fears
Free to stay beside you in the space
So I work to purify my heart
And never forget my rightful place
As I climb again, your presence greets me like a friend
And now I am here, I find I never lost your grace
Lifted to the surface of my own invented darkness
By the guiding light of your-warmth on my face
How did all these wonderful things happen
From nothing came the entire universe
Glory to the act of a sheer creation
You made empty, cold, dark space give birth
Thank you for my life, and for my living
For the endless riches beyond wealth
Thank you for my body, for my being
For the gift of healing and of health
The spirit that resides in thee & endlessly provides for me
That satisfies all needs and slakes all thirsts
This timeless, endless love that grows, is blazing in the sky to show
That we are more than bodies made of Earth
